Important Action Alert

Now Is The Time To Act!

The vote in the Senate on the Federal Marriage Amendment (FMA) to the Constitution is now expected to take place in about a month. It is critical for those of us willing to defend marriage and the family, to contact our senators now and urge them to both support the FMA and to actively work for its passage. Amending our constitution is essential to prevent activist judges from forcing same-sex “marriage” on all of the states.

Here is what you can do.

1. The most valuable contact would be to discuss this issue personally with your senator.

It is also useful to call your senator’s office and discuss this issue with the staff person assigned to this issue or to write a personal letter. Our Web site, www.DefendMarriage.org, offers extensive background information on this issue that can help you discuss it expertly.

2. If you cannot meet personally, send them a letter or fax or e-mail.

We have set up a special page on our Website that permits you to send an email, or easily print a letter to mail or fax to your senators. We automatically address your letters or e-mail and provide a suggested message that you can easily edit as you wish. Click here.

If one of your senators is a co-sponsor of the amendment, we especially encourage you to contact them and thank them for taking the lead in defending marriage and the family.

Co-sponsors of the Federal Marriage Amendment, S.J.Res. 30:

•  Sen. Wayne Allard (CO) •  Sen Sam Brownback [KS]

Want to go the extra mile to defend marriage?

If you are a resident of one of the states listed below and you live in the Washington area will be visiting Washington on those days or can travel to Washington at your own expense, please contact us by e-mail at defenders@defendmarriage.org.
