Urgent Alert! Help Protect the Family at the UN!
Critical Vote Expected on Monday, December 6th
We only ask
you to act when a situation is critical.
We urgently ask you to email UN missions and ask them to support the “Doha Declaration” at the UN General Assembly session taking place on Monday, December 6th. This declaration is a major statement in support of the traditional family and what all nations and people should do to protect it.
We make it easy for you to send an e-mail to 14 of the most critical UN delegations in just a couple of minutes through a special page we have created on our Web site. Just click here. We provide suggested language for you to e-mail to these delegations as well as giving you more background information on this problem, including the actual text of the Doha Declaration.
It is critical that the Doha Declaration be recognized by the UN in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the Year of the Family, which is this year. A number of nations are opposed to its language, including some of the nations in the European Union, Canada and others, and they are fighting tooth and nail against recognizing the Doha Declaration. Yesterday, Friday, a contentious debate erupted and clear battle lines were drawn between those delegations supportive of the family and those which are opposed.
If the Doha Declaration is not recognized by the UN it will be a disaster. This fight illustrates once again just how many country delegations are anti-family. The Doha declaration is a simple statement of what you and I and most people in the world believe about the importance of the family and it astounds me to think that there are governments that cannot support it.
It is also extremely important that we fight the attempt of these anti-family country delegations to replace the phrase, “the family,” with terms like “various forms of the family” which is a deliberate attempt to have the international community recognize and validate the homosexual lifestyle. If this wording is replaced it will lay the basis for more bad court decisions by activist judges in the U.S. and around the world that will further undermine the family and family values by judicial fiat.
You can make a huge difference on this! Last February we asked our supporters around the world to email UN missions on a similar crisis and you responded to the tune of 350,000 emails to selected UN delegations. Your response was a major factor in successfully defeating a provision which would have paved the way for the legalization of same-sex marriage across the world.
It will be a major setback to defending the family at the international level if we do not stop the anti-family delegations at the UN and if we cannot get the UN to recognize the Doha Declaration.
I am urgently asking you to take just a couple of minutes and respond once again. Just go to our Web page and help us protect the family at the UN!
Thanks for your help!
Sincerely,
Sharon Slater
President
