Important Reminder!
Please Vote Tomorrow to Defend Marriage in Texas!
Tomorrow, November 8th, Texans will vote on Proposition 2 and decide whether to give the most secure possible protection to marriage in Texas. Proposition 2 defines marriage as only the union of a man and a woman and prohibits the legislature or activist judges from creating any “marriage-like” status for same-sex couples.
While opinion polls show that an overwhelming majority of Texans support Proposition 2, that does not mean that it will pass. In recent weeks, voters in Texas have been subjected to an outrageous campaign of deception and misinformation about Proposition 2 by homosexual activist and their anti-marriage allies. Turn out by average voters at these constitutional elections is generally low. At the same time, the minority who opposes Proposition 2 is expected to turn out at the polls in large numbers. As a result, unless those who want to defend marriage turn out and vote, Proposition 2 could be defeated tomorrow. (For more background information you can review last week's action alert here.)
So far, all 18 states that have considered marriage constitutional amendments have passed them. It is essential both to protecting marriage in Texas and in the United States that Texas also passes its proposed constitutional amendment, Proposition 2.
We urge you to:
- Be sure and vote yourself for Proposition 2 tomorrow.
- Encourage as many others who would support Proposition 2 to also get out and vote for it.
